We are an interdisciplinary team drawing on the strengths of our fields to support great ideas that improve healthcare.
MAD Lab was founded in 2013 with the mission of bringing together students from diverse backgrounds to develop solutions for devices and other technical interventions brought to us by the College of Medicine. Since then, we have worked on multiple projects such as a passive baby warming wrap for low resource environments, to a stroke rehabilitation device to a non-invasive temperature monitor using an arterial line for placement.
Past projects have been submitted to the UIC Office of Technology Management for provisional applications for patent and have secured $200K in additional funding from the Chancellor’s Innovation Fund.
